Chobe Game Lodge, located on the banks of Botswana’s Chobe River within Chobe National Park, is a trailblazer in sustainable safari tourism. It’s the only permanent lodge inside the park and offers front-row access to one of Africa’s densest elephant populations.
Chobe Game Lodge is entirely powered by a solar energy plant and operates a fleet of electric game-drive vehicles and solar-powered boats—pioneering moves in Africa’s safari industry. These efforts have significantly reduced noise, emissions, and the lodge’s overall carbon footprint.
Social responsibility is also central to its ethos. The lodge employs an all-female guiding team—one of the first in Africa—empowering local women in a traditionally male-dominated profession. It also supports local communities through training, employment, and partnerships with regional suppliers.
