Lisu Lodge sits in the foothills of northern Thailand, around an hour from Chiang Mai, and is run in partnership with the local Lisu hill tribe. The lodge also channels a portion of its income into community-run development initiatives and its operations are part of the Asian Oasis network, which promotes low-impact tourism and long-term partnerships with local people. Guests can join guided walks through the village to visit a local shaman, try rice planting or harvesting depending on the season, or cycle through surrounding tea plantations. More active options include white-water rafting and multi-day treks to remote hill communities.
