Wild Coast Tented Lodge is a luxury safari camp in Sri Lanka’s Yala National Park, a wildlife haven that boasts the highest density of leopards in the world. The camp is situated where the jungle meets a pristine beach, overlooking the blue waters of the Indian Ocean. The camp consists of 28 cocoon-like tents that blend in with the landscape and take on the shape and colour of the rocks and boulders that lay scattered nearby. The tents are spacious and stylish, with king-sized beds, en suite bathrooms, outdoor showers, dressing rooms, fireplaces, minibars and private decks. The camp also features a spa, a gym, a pool, a boma, a lounge, a bar and a restaurant, all made of bamboo and offering stunning views over the wilderness.
Sustainability
Wild Lodge Tented Camp is committed to conserving and celebrating the natural beauty and wildlife of Yala National Park and its surroundings. The camp is solar-powered and uses eco-friendly materials and products wherever possible. It also supports local communities and initiatives through various projects, such as providing scholarships, creating employment opportunities, sponsoring conservation research and donating to anti-poaching efforts. Wild Lodge Tented Camp also aims to educate and inspire its guests about the importance of protecting this fragile ecosystem and its inhabitants. The camp has a library where guests can learn about the wildlife in the park and watch documentaries, further explained by the lodge’s expert guides. Rooms
Wild Coast Tented Lodge has 28 tents, each with its own unique character and style. The tents are spacious and comfortable, with king-sized beds, en suite bathrooms, outdoor showers, dressing rooms, fireplaces, minibars and private decks. The tents are decorated with bespoke furniture and artworks by some of Sri Lanka’s most acclaimed designers and artists. The tents also have large windows and sliding doors that allow natural light and fresh air to fill the space.
Cocoon Suites: These are the standard tents that offer cosy and chic accommodation for two guests. The suites have wooden floors, canvas roofs and large windows that create a light and airy atmosphere. The suites also have private decks that overlook the jungle or the beach.
Cocoon Pool Suites: These are similar to the Cocoon Suites but with an added luxury of a private plunge pool on the deck. The pool suites are ideal for couples who want to enjoy some extra privacy and relaxation.
Family Cocoon Suites: These are larger tents that can accommodate up to four guests. The suites have a master bedroom with a king-sized bed and a second bedroom with two twin beds. The suites also have a shared bathroom, a dressing room and a deck with a plunge pool. The family suites are perfect for families or friends who want to share the adventure.
Urchin Tents: These are smaller tents that are located near the main area of the camp. The tents have queen-sized beds, en suite bathrooms and private decks. The urchin tents are suitable for solo travellers or couples who want to be close to the action.

Wild Coast Tented Lodge offers an interactive culinary experience, with an open kitchen-dining room where guests can watch the chefs prepare delicious dishes using fresh and local ingredients. The menu changes daily and reflects the seasons and the availability of produce. Wild Coast Tented Lodge is situated in Yala National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s most popular wildlife destinations. The park covers over 900 square kilometres of diverse habitats, from dry woodlands and grasslands to wetlands and lagoons. The park is home to over 200 species of birds, 44 species of mammals, 46 species of reptiles and 18 species of amphibians. The park is especially famous for its leopards, which are estimated to number around 40 individuals. Other animals that can be seen in the park include elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, deer, monkeys, buffaloes and peacocks.

Wild Coast Tented Lodge welcomes children of all ages and offers a family-friendly safari experience. Getting there
Wild Coast Tented Lodge is accessible by air or by road. The nearest airport is Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport, which is about an hour’s drive from the camp. The airport is serviced by domestic flights from Colombo and other major cities in Sri Lanka. Alternatively, guests can drive to the camp from Colombo (about 6 hours), Galle (about 4 hours) or Kandy (about 5 hours), depending on the road conditions. The camp can arrange transfers from either option.
