Sal Salis is an exclusive safari camp hidden in the white sand dunes of Western Australia’s Cape Range National Park, just metres from the water’s edge and home to one of the world’s greatest fringing coastal coral reef. Sal Salis features 15 tents, each with an en-suite natural composting bathroom, a king-size or twin bed, a fan, and a private deck with views of the ocean or the bush. You won’t find any TVs, phones, or wifi here, but you will find plenty of books, games, and binoculars. The camp also provides organic cotton sheets, bathrobes, towels, and toiletries made from native herbs. Meals are served communally in the main lodge so you can share stories and experiences with your fellow travellers.
The watery world is the star of the show here. Snorkel the turquoise waters seeking out colourful corals and fish, or swim with whale sharks, humpback whales, manta rays, and turtles. You can also kayak along the coast, hike through the gorges and canyons, or spot kangaroos, wallaroos, echidnas, and emus in the bush. At night, there is stargazing and night hiking.
