Whitepod Eco-Luxury Hotel is a unique resort in the Swiss Alps, where guests can enjoy nature and comfort in a collection of cosy pods. Each pod is a dome-shaped tent, equipped with a pellet stove, an en-suite bathroom and a floor-to-ceiling window facing the valley. The pods at Whitepod Eco-Luxury Hotel are anchored on a wooden platform and blend in with the landscape, creating a minimal impact on the environment. Guests can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, such as skiing, hiking, dog sledding and paragliding, or relax in the central chalet with a sauna and a bar.
Sustainability
Whitepod Eco-Luxury Hotel is committed to sustainability and eco-friendly practices. The pods are designed to reduce energy consumption and waste production, using renewable materials, insulation, natural ventilation and pellet stoves. The resort also uses solar panels, rainwater harvesting, composting toilets and organic products. The resort aims to preserve the natural beauty and biodiversity of the area, by limiting the number of guests, using local suppliers and partners, and supporting social and environmental projects. Whitepod Eco-Luxury Hotel has received several awards for its innovative and responsible concept, such as the World Prize for Sustainable Tourism and the Responsible Tourism Award.
The pods are also energy efficient because of their geodesic shape, which creates a self-supporting frame and a continuous airflow inside. The resort estimates that the energy required to heat and cool a pod is 30% less than a conventional building. The pods are also adaptable to different seasons and weather conditions, changing their colour and orientation to blend in with the landscape. The resort participates in Swiss Triple Impact, a program that measures and improves its social, environmental and economic impact. It is also a member of Ecoluxury, a network of hotels that share the same values of sustainability and quality.
