Setting
Nestled in the small village of Commeire, Montagne Alternative is surrounded by nature and tranquility. From your window, you can admire the majestic peaks of Mont Blanc Massif and Mont Vélan, or gaze at the stars at night. The lodge is a 20-minute drive from the ski areas of Vichers-Bavon, La Fouly or Champex-lac, and 30 minutes from Verbier’s Les 4 Vallées. You can also explore the nearby Great Saint Bernard Valley and Pass, rich in history and culture.
Style & Character
Montagne Alternative is not your typical hotel. It consists of several century-old barns that have been renovated with style and respect for tradition. The interiors are minimalist and chic, with wooden floors, open fireplaces and cozy furniture. The rooms and chalets are spacious and comfortable, with fully equipped kitchens and private bathrooms. Some of them have balconies or terraces to enjoy the views. The lodge also has a carnotzet, a stone-vaulted cellar where you can taste local delicacies and wines.

The staff at Montagne Alternative are friendly and helpful, ready to make your stay memorable. You can enjoy yoga classes and massage treatments, or relax in the Turkish baths. The lodge also offers free WiFi, parking and shuttle service. For meetings and events, there are two fully-equipped seminar rooms and novel work areas in the barns.

There are 28 rooms and chalets at Montagne Alternative, ranging from double rooms to family chalets that can accommodate up to 12 people. All of them are tastefully decorated with natural materials and colors, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are modern and clean. The chalets have living rooms with fireplaces, dining areas and kitchens with dishwashers, ovens and fridges.

Getting there
Montagne Alternative is located in Commeire, a small village in the municipality of Orsières. The nearest airport is Geneva International Airport (GVA), which is about 150 km away. You can take a train from Geneva to Martigny (about 1 hour 40 minutes), then change to another train to Orsières (about 20 minutes). From Orsières station, you can take a taxi or arrange a shuttle service with the lodge (about 15 minutes). Alternatively, you can rent a car at Geneva airport or Martigny station.
