Perched on a clifftop edge 2000m above sea level, Alila Jabal Akhdar is a stunning and luxurious hotel based in the Al Hajar mountain range, a mountain and ravine desert landscape in Oman. Rooms are luxurious with heavy wood furniture and local handicrafts on the walls. Bathrooms have views over the spectacular open landscape. Food here at the Juniper restaurant is Middle Eastern, naturally and the outstanding spa uses locally grown herbs in its treatments. The pull here though is the location. Guests can hike in pristine environments to explore ghost villages, canyons and mountaintops or head further out to see the Bedouin plains give way to a lush palm oasis.
