&Beyond Sossusvlei Lodge is a desert oasis that blends in with the natural beauty of the landscape, using stone, glass and steel to create spacious and elegant suites that overlook the vast plains and mountains. The lodge offers a range of activities, from exploring the iconic Sossusvlei dunes and Deadvlei clay pan, to stargazing at the state-of-the-art observatory, to flying over the desert in a hot air balloon or a helicopter. The lodge also features a wellness centre, a swimming pool, a library and a restaurant that serves delicious cuisine inspired by local flavours and ingredients. &Beyond Sossusvlei Lodge is located within the AndBeyond Sossusvlei Private Desert Reserve, a 12,715 hectare (31,419 acre) expanse of wilderness that is part of the NamibRand Nature Reserve, one of Africa’s largest private reserves. The lodge is situated at the foot of a mountain range, facing the open plains and the distant dunes. The lodge is accessible by road or by air, with a private airstrip nearby. &Beyond Sossusvlei Lodge is designed to harmonise with the environment, using natural materials and colours that reflect the desert hues. The lodge has 10 suites that are built from stone, glass and steel, with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer panoramic views of the scenery. The suites are decorated with contemporary furniture, local artworks and textiles, and have king-sized beds, fireplaces, air-conditioning, minibars, safes and en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers. Each suite also has a private veranda with a plunge pool and a star bed where you can sleep under the stars.
Sustainability
Set in the heart of the Namib desert, &Beyond Sossusvlei Lodge is a shining example of sustainable design and eco-friendly luxury. The lodge harnesses the power of the sun to generate electricity for the entire property, as well as to run water recycling systems that minimize the environmental impact. The lodge also uses natural materials and colours to blend in with the surrounding landscape, creating a harmonious balance between man-made and natural beauty.
The lodge partners with Africa Foundation, a community and conservation development organization that provides sustenance for local school children and supports local artisans. The lodge also sources food and supplies from local producers and suppliers, reducing carbon emissions and boosting the local economy.
Rooms
Rooms &Beyond Sossusvlei Lodge offers 10 spacious and elegant suites, each with a private veranda, a fireplace, a skylight for stargazing, and a glass-enclosed bathroom with a desert view. The suites are decorated with natural fabrics and earthy tones, creating a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Each suite also has a telescope, binoculars, and an iPad loaded with stargazing apps, allowing guests to explore the night sky with ease. The suites can accommodate up to two adults and one child.
Food and drink
AndBeyond Sossusvlei Lodge offers a variety of dining options, from casual picnics to elegant dinners. The cuisine is influenced by the flavours of Namibia, featuring fresh produce, local meats and cheeses, and exotic spices. The lodge caters to different dietary preferences and allergies, and can arrange special menus on request. The lodge has a main dining area where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily. The dining area has an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs prepare your meals. There is also a bar where you can enjoy drinks and snacks throughout the day. For a more intimate and romantic experience, you can also dine in your suite, on your private veranda, or under the stars.

Wider region
AndBeyond Sossusvlei Lodge is located within the AndBeyond Sossusvlei Private Desert Reserve, a part of the NamibRand Nature Reserve, one of Africa’s largest private reserves. The reserve covers an area of 215,000 hectares (531,000 acres) and encompasses a diverse range of habitats, from mountains and plains to dunes and rivers. The reserve is home to a variety of wildlife, such as oryx, springbok, zebra, giraffe, ostrich, jackal and hyena. The reserve also boasts some of the most spectacular scenery in Namibia, such as the iconic Sossusvlei dunes, the Deadvlei clay pan, the Sesriem Canyon and the Naukluft Mountains.
Kids
AndBeyond Sossusvlei Lodge welcomes children of all ages, but please note that there are no specific facilities or activities for children at the lodge. Children under 12 years old are accommodated on special rates when sharing with two adults. Children under 6 years old are not allowed to participate in some activities such as hot air ballooning or quad biking. Children under 16 years old are not allowed to participate in some activities such as helicopter flights or hiking in the mountains.
Getting there
AndBeyond Sossusvlei Lodge is accessible by road or by air, with a private airstrip nearby. The lodge can arrange transfers for you at an additional cost. Alternatively, you can fly directly to AndBeyond Sossusvlei Lodge by charter flight from Windhoek or other destinations in Namibia.
