Elephant Valley Project

Elephant Valley Project aims to improve the health and welfare of domestic elephants in Mondulkiri Province, Cambodia. It is one of the largest captive elephant sanctuaries in Asia, a remote, rural area with over 1,500 hectares of forest, rivers, grassland, and bamboo groves for the elephants to roam freely. A visit here is a unique chance to observe Asian elephants in their natural habitat, learn their stories from the Indigenous Bunong Peoples, help with their health checks, and assist with research projects. You are not allowed to ride on them or bathe with them. Stay overnight at the project, in one of the traditional Khmer-style bungalows or dorms for a more immersive stay. The accommodation is simple but comfortable, with basic amenities and a private balcony or terrace. Along with elephant care, Elephant Valley Project also provides health care and education to local villagers and supports various social and environmental initiatives. It also grows organic food for the elephants and the guests, and plants endangered tree species to restore the forest.
