Emirates One & Only Wolgan Valley is a luxury eco-resort set in a secluded valley in the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. It offers 40 spacious villas, each with a private pool, fireplace and veranda, as well as a range of activities to explore the stunning natural surroundings. The resort is located in the Wolgan Valley, a 7,000-acre wildlife reserve that borders the Wollemi National Park and the Gardens of Stone National Park. The valley is home to diverse flora and fauna, including kangaroos, wallabies, wombats and platypuses. The resort is surrounded by dramatic sandstone cliffs, eucalyptus forests and rolling hills. The nearest town is Lithgow, about an hour’s drive away. The resort blends seamlessly with the landscape, using natural materials such as wood, stone and glass. The villas are designed to reflect the heritage of the original homestead, with high ceilings, exposed beams and rustic furnishings. Each villa has a spacious living area, a king-size bed, a walk-in wardrobe, a bathroom with a freestanding tub and a rain shower, and a veranda with a private pool and sun loungers.
Sustainability
The resort is committed to environmental sustainability and conservation. It was built using recycled materials and renewable energy sources, such as solar panels and wind turbines. It also has a zero-waste policy, which means that it composts organic waste, recycles plastic and metal waste, and reuses water for irrigation. It also supports various initiatives to protect and restore the native wildlife and vegetation, such as planting trees, removing invasive species and monitoring endangered species. Guests can learn more about these projects by joining guided tours or volunteering activities. The resort also educates guests and staff on how to reduce their environmental footprint and live more sustainably.
The resort also strives to have a positive impact on the local community and empower its staff. It sources most of its food and beverages from local farmers and producers, who practice organic and ethical farming methods. It also supports local artisans and businesses by selling their products at the boutique, such as pottery, jewellery, honey and soap. It also provides training and employment opportunities for local people, especially those from indigenous backgrounds. It also sponsors educational programs and cultural events for the community, such as scholarships, workshops, festivals and concerts. The resort also encourages guests and staff to participate in these activities and learn more about the local culture and history.
