Puros Bush Lodge and Camp

Puros Bush Lodge and Camp is a hidden gem in the remote and rugged Kaokoland, a vast wilderness in north-western Namibia. This eco-friendly lodge and campsite offers a unique opportunity to experience the culture and wildlife of the Himba people, one of the last semi-nomadic tribes in Africa. The lodge and campsite are sited next to the Hoarusib River, a lifeline in the arid landscape, which attracts the rare desert-adapted elephants, giraffes, zebras, oryxes, lions and hyenas, which can be watched from the camp. The lodge has six chalets and one family unit, all built with natural materials and decorated with local crafts. The chalets have en-suite bathrooms, solar-powered lights and fans, and private verandas overlooking the river. The family unit has two bedrooms, a shared bathroom, a kitchenette and a lounge area. The lodge also has a communal dining area, a bar and a lounge with books and games. The campsite has 10 sites, each with its own shower and toilet. The sites are shaded by large camel thorn trees and have fire pits and braai facilities. The campsite also has a communal kitchen with gas stoves, fridges and freezers, as well as a laundry area with washing machines.
